Espresso:-

Café espresso, or just espresso is a concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee.
Espresso has become increasingly popular in recent. In Northern Europe, specialty coffee chains have emerged, selling various sorts of espresso from street corners and high streets.
he first espresso machines were introduced at the beginning of the 20th Century, with the first patent being filed by Luigi Bezzera of Milan, Italy, in 1901.Presently,with popularity of home machines, espresso gains interest in very fast pace. Today, a wide range of home espresso equipment can be found in kitchen and appliance stores.
Espresso is used as the base of other drinks like mochas, macchiato, lattes and cappuccino.

Latte:-

Café latte is prepared by adding Espresso, a lot of milk and small dollop of milk foam (or froth).
The main difference between Espresso and Latte is the addition of milk and froth.

History of latte:-

Latte is invented by a Italian barista in the bay area in California named Lino Meiorin, he made truly Italian cappuccinos which were found by the local market as being too strong. So, Meiorin made adjustments making a cappuccino with larger portions of milk to lessen its strength. He called the drink café latte knowing that he only added more latte (milk) on the drink. The customers seemed to like it and soon it picked up and spread all across the world.
Espresso has more caffeine per unit volume of most beverages, compared on the basis of usual serving sizes, a 30 mL (1 fluid ounce) shot of espresso has about half the caffeine of a standard 180 mL (6 fluid ounce) cup of drip brewed coffee, which varies from 80 to 130 mg
In some places latte may be served in a glass instead of a cup. But, according to tradition, a espresso can be served in some kind of a porcelain cup that has greater heat-retention properties.

Difference between Espresso and Latte (Espresso vs Latte):-

1) Espresso is the base of many coffee variations whereas latte is one of the variations.
2) Espresso has only steamed water which is passed through finely grounded coffee beans whereas latte has espresso added with milk and froth (foamed milk).
